Despite first coming to the world’s attention almost fifty-five years ago with the formation of The Beatles, Paul McCartney has ever-since been one of the music industry’s most influential and well known voices.
Generations of dedicated fans have paved his auspicious career and this was once again proven at the headline show of the South American leg of his world tour in Uruguay.
Two year old, Ichiro is said to have made himself known to McCartney’s security before being invited up on stage by the man himself.
Dressed in his own, miniature Sgt Pepper outfit, the young fan had travelled with his parents from Argentina equipped with a small version of McCartney’s iconic Hofner bass guitar.
Ichiro’s father, Pablo said after the show:
“Ichiro was a fan even before he was born. This was an incredible moment. No one is bigger than Paul McCartney.”
In what was his first ever visit to Uruguay, McCartney performed his song ‘Get Back’ with the little fan on-stage.
The concert was held at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo which was home to the first ever World Cup tournament in 1930.
The tour will visit Paraguay, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico before returning to the UK in June where the Beatles star is set to headline the Diamond Jubilee concert.
