Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream experiences sales surge following Part of Me Movie release

 

The good news just keeps getting better for pop-princess Katy Perry, as it was today announced the star experienced a boost in album sales following the release of her film Part of Me.

Teenage Dream, and re-released Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, saw sales increase by 451%, pushing the album back up the charts in the US to number two on the Billboard 200 chart.

According to Hits Daily Double, the album sold another 76,555 copies last week, almost two years since it’s original release, allowing it a return to the top of the charts.

Sales figures for the actual movie, however, aren’t as strong. The film only reached number seven during it’s opening weekend, with US box office ticket sales tipping $7,150,000.
