Ellie Goulding’s highly anticipated second album is set to be released in October.

Halcyon will act as a follow up to her first album, Lights, which was released in 2010.

Posting about the new album, Ellie said: “Guys just want to say im so excited to share this album with you. been a long time coming and i’ve been inspired by many people and many places. I feel so lucky to have the coolest, funniest, most creative fans. giving you all kisses #halcyon.

“I’m so incredibly proud of this record, I really can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

She recently released a new single, Hanging On, which features Tinie Tempah. It’s unknown whether this will feature on the album.

Lyrics from Halcyon’s first official single, Anything Can Happen, were revealed last week. It’s believed this single will be fully unveiled once the lyric video, contributed to by fans, has been put together.

Halcyon will hit the UK on October 8th.
