Infamous for her miming skills, beautiful Cheryl Cole has reportedly promised to sing live on The Voice UK tonight.
According to The Sun, Cheryl’s comments about singing live means the producers of the show fear they’ll need to autotune her voice before it’s broadcast later in the evening.
The ‘Call My Name’ singer will pre-record a performance of her latest single in front of the judges and the audience at 6.00pm this evening, half an hour before the show goes live.
Sound engineers working for the show will then have 90 minutes to check and improve Cheryl’s vocals before it is aired later in the show, following similar tricks carried out during Cheryl’s X Factor performances, also rumoured to be pre-recorded and auto-tuned.
Cheryl caused media uproar after vowing to perform her single ‘Promise This’ live on The X Factor, yet instead opted to mime the track.
“Since then Cheryl has been working really hard on her vocals. Now she wants to sing live and prove herself as a professional,” a source said.
“Everyone is supportive of her wish to sing live but just like when she was on The X Factor, her performance will be pre-recorded so there is a big safety net there.
“The show is called The Voice – the singing that they broadcast needs to be perfect.”
Kylie Minogue will also perform her latest single, Timebomb, on The Voice UK tomorrow night.
